Came here based on reviews. I was travelling and checking out Dundee. This. Is. Worth. It. The rainbow bagel..the avo toast... the maple bacon waffle... the espresso...the beet drink...the flat white... put this on your list! Go to the counter to order after you sit. You pay there too. As we travel through Scotland, we found The Flame Tree Cafe. Very nice, clean place with excellent food. The staff was wonderful. It looks like a family owned operation. The staff was very friendly and engaging. The menu consists of some breakfast items and a variety of soups, sandwiches and wraps.  We had the toasted cheesy ( grilled cheese ) and a very good tomato pepper soup. The Scots do a great job with bread, so our sandwich had nice thick slices of brown bread that was wonderful. The bread was stuffed with cheese and an assortment of options you may want. I added ham and red onion. We finished with a lovely croissant with butter and jam. They also have Coke products in a can!  Americans will understand the significance. They also had a wonderful looking selection of pastries, cookies and such, but we were only there for lunch!  I bet they are delicious though. I am a sucker for family owned restaurants where they really care about their food, service and customers. Flame Tree has all that and more.  Check it out.
