I believe in paying for good quality food if you can afford it, but not if the price is outrageous AND the food is mediocre AND the service is that brand of downtown Toronto hipster-self-conscious-aloof/unfriendly! I've had a few experiences now...Recently, I struggled out of their badly accessible entrance with my stroller with my sleeping baby, and the two dudes at the counter - where they were busy with zero other customers - did not move, did not lift a finger, to help while I very obviously struggled in front of them for minutes trying to get the stroller through the door. Place lacks sense of service, chivalry, authentic class, or even joy.
Every time I visit Toronto I come here , best smoothies and juice the city has to offer. Boost up for the day or recover from partying the night before
HORRIBLE TREATMENT. I was both insulted and poisoned. I was served a salad by the manager, who I specifically asked "are there just almonds in this, or are there other nuts or peanuts" and his response was "JUST almonds." Moments later when I ate the salad, I immediately realized I was having an allergic reaction. I am anaphylactic to all nuts other than almonds, and when I went back to the cash to ask. The cook answered and said, there are walnuts in this salad. NO WHERE on the menu was this listed, and after specifically asking and being misinformed I was now being told the truth too late. After a terrible afternoon dealing with having consumed walnuts and going into anaphylactic shock, I called the following day to speak to the manager, to let them know they should be more cautious when informing customers about the ingredients. All he had to say to me was "Clearly you shouldn't be eating in restaurants if you have allergies" and that "I only told him about peanuts", (aka he misheard) even though HIS response was "JUST ALMONDS." Would never recommend this place to anyone who cares about being treated like a decent person, and not insulted after having been poisoned.
