Turned away when asking for a walk-in table for four, despite there being plenty of room. Possibly, we thought soon after, because we didn't meet the 'click' criteria or perhaps our attire. Told 'bookings only'. Felt a bit like an out-cast having lived in Weaverham village for almost a decade. Went elsewhere. Perhaps it'll change in the future.

We called in at the Hanging Gate without a booking and even though they were expecting a large party of 29 people any minute, they managed to squeeze us in and serve us excellent meals and desserts. Both the food and service was of the highest quality. The landlady, who has recently taken over, was exceptional and certainly knows how things should be run! We will definitely be back sooner rather than later! Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

From the moment we walked in to the pub on a very busy Saturday night we felt welcomed. The staff were very attentive and helpful and keen to let us know that due to a party our food may be delayed but very thin was perfect and the food was beautifully cooked and presented. I wish we had a local pub as nice as this one.
