Normally I give Malt House a 5 star review. Ive been to both locations many times and have recommended Malt House to lots of friends. I even threw a 60 person private party at the Fidi location. Unfortunately on this Friday I had an upsetting experience. I was sitting at the downstairs bar when one of the managers, Brendan, reprimanded an employee right in front of me and all of the other patrons and staff. Completely unprofessional. It was not a quick reprimand either but a full out reprimand including discussions of warnings, suspensions etc. Very inapprorpriate to do this in front of patrons. I tried to find the manager on my way out to let him know my feelings but couldnt find him so had to resort to yelp.
Crowded, but to be expected. Got here at 5:20 on a work day and we were able to find a spot at the bar (thanks to some kind gentlemen!) within 10 minutes or so. Happy hour specials are worth it - drinks are very reasonable and varied for HH (my friends got beers and I did the MH Mule). Food was addicting - especially those fries oh my!!!
You will need a reservation but ask for their basement (upstairs too crowded and tables are in close proximity). The basement was less crowded and big enough for a group of 6, huge tv for football watching, and bottomless cocktails for Sunday Brunch until 4pm. Win-win!
