Actually this is not an one star place, I gave them one star because it is closed because of pandemic. They still have seating facility outside. I found bunches of tourist and some of them are guided tour. A staff outside standing, he answers different question asked by the visitors. Clean outside, 4 out of 5.

First time, last time coming here. Not only was the order wrong, the oysters had a very fishy taste and we didn't even finish the full dozen and at $40/dz that should tell you how bad they were. The beer battered fish was mushy and disgusting. The clam chowder soup tasted like mashed potatoes. Definitely not a good place to eat. And with so many NYC choices, DO NOT EAT HERE!

Popped into The Oyster House at Pier A after going to the Museum of Jewish Heritage nearby. My friend and I coincidentally stopped by during happy hour, which is Monday to Friday, 3PM to 7PM. They have a "oyster hour" where you can get a deal on oysters and wine or beer. We didn't partake in happy hour nor was the restaurant particularly busy, which I found odd being that it was 5PM on a Friday. I had a side of Old Bay Fries [$6] and a margarita [$13]. The fries were actually really good, perfectly fried and crispy. The portion size was generous considering the price. The margarita was also delicious, neither watered down nor laced with too much alcohol. To be honest, $13 is on the cheaper end for such a well crafted cocktail. I peeped a woman's onion rings at another table, they looked divine. The restaurant is nautical themed. It might be a little kitch but it works. The views of the water are gorgeous. In all, I found the place to be quite relaxing after a museum jaunt. I would not hesitant to come back if I were in the area. The only downside: the bathrooms need some work, it looks like a public restroom and smells like one too. Or shall I say, it smells like a sailor who's been out to sea for awhile [keeping with the nautical theme here].
