Only live a short distance away been meaning to come for ages. Visited Easter Sunday lunch, didn't feel rushed although busy. Food was delicious and loved the atmosphere. Our visiting family was delighted too, a vast improvement on our normal Sunday roast at home! Booked to come again already with friends. Grazie. Staff dressed inappropriately had their guts hanging out. Dog hair everywhere on tables and food. Too cramped. Gas heater on in tent and smelt gas the whole time. Given a time slot to be out by but was slow on serving so didn’t have time to enjoy the desert. Overly priced by a mile too. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £40–50 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Recommended dishes: Roast Potato

Ah Somba Dzn, ye behind the cloak and saviour of the people. Sorry you didn't appreciate it but should you wish to discuss your comments do feel free to call us. To illuminate on some of your points... the heater is there to keep people warm (usually appreciated) we're surprised you didn't mention the smell of gas at the time, that could have made the tent explosively spicy... we have of course checked all connections and the heater for safety precautions so thanks for the heads up. Regarding the inappropriately dressed staff, we'd love to know who you were talking about? Our front of house are required to dress in a smart casual manner, which they do. Maybe it was the chef who, to be fair, sports the fashion of an out of work PE teacher and does have a small gut. He's working it off but we do hope you didn't catch a glimpse, apologies if you did, terribly off putting. The dog hairs in the food (we only use for staff drinks following special occasions, not sure how they made it into your food) and on the table we are flummoxed by. Again, surely this would have warranted a mention. Our tables are cleaned between every sitting and we do not allow dogs on the them, although they are welcome in the restaurant and we even have biscuits. It was a bit tight over the weekend as we had some large tables but we feel the closeness adds to the convivial atmosphere one expects from a busy restaurant on one of the most popular days of the year. We are very glad you loved the roast potato and sorry you didnt have the time to savour the dessert. We do (weather permitting) allow guests to take their desserts to the picnic benches on the rare occasion that the relay is due. Buona fortuna to you sir, or madam and we're on the end of the phone should you need anything or a booking in the future. All the best, The Parlour management.
