Can’t comment on food as they won’t let a family eat outside with dogs even said only passing though while on a canal trip still no , not even very busy outside empty
We have just concluded our night this evening at this establishment and I can honestly say I am appalled at the unprofessional attitude the manager has portrayed. There were a group of 8 of us sat at a table adjacent to the bar, there were several glasses sat on the table and unfortunately one of them spontaneously shattered (attached Is a link proving the science behind it). I mentioned this to the manager in question and his dismissive attitude was absolutely disrespectful and demeaning. He did not once stop his current activity to address the situation and came to his own conclusion that we were not telling the truth. I do hope that he sorts out his attitude and if he is the role model for the new upcoming staff then I truly feel sorry for them.
Ensure that your inexperienced manager and staff know what they're dealing
Eggs Benedict gets my thumbs up! We stayed in the nearby Travelodge during our recent visit to Rugeley, and as we explored breakfast options on a Sunday morning, the best option was here. The Plaza is part of the J.D. Wetherspoons franchise, so one should know what to expect. This particular pub had a nice exterior at the front with searing and an amazing beer garden at the back. It was fairly open inside and had a higher mezzanine area. We arrived shortly after 10am and there were only a handful of people in, but steadily got busier within the hour. Plus, a few locals treating themselves to a mid morning beer (read into that what you will!) I had my heart set on Eggs Benedict and a coffee and I was not disappointed. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the breakfast. We didn't have to wait long for the food, and the poached eggs came on a generous serving of cured Wiltshire ham and a toasted muffin (the bread!) covered in hollandaise sauce, and a side of salad. The eggs were poached to perfection and I was very happy with the ham. The sauce had a strong taste to it, but I'm not complaining. Overall a great combo. The coffee was Lavazza, and fairly decent. The best part was the price. Two dishes with drinks and change from a tenner. Great start to a Sunday morning! I've had breakfast here twice before, and as I recall, was relatively satisfied then. So if in Rugeley, and thinking about your breakfast options, give The Plaza a go, and you may be pleasantly surprised!
