Very disappointed in our last, and maybe final, visit to the Surfing Pig. Ordered the Turkey Rachel, which is supposed to be a grilled hot sandwich with the restaurant's smoked turkey. After all, they are a BBQ restaurant that promotes their smoked meats. I figured their smoked turkey would be a good pick. Unfortunately it wasn't. First, the turkey was ice cold (just out of the fridge). I understand that you need to keep left over meat refrigerated but warm it up on your flat top before making a sandwich with it. The turkey also did not taste or look like it was a real turkey breast that they smoked in-house. It was sliced super thin, like deli meat, and it also had that unnatural brown casing on the outside, just like deli meat has. I seriously think it was from the local Acme grocery store. It also was supposed to have melted Swiss cheese. It did, but one thin slice! Couldn't even taste it. A very small, cold, deli meat sandwich with one small piece of Swiss cheese, and an individual 1oz size bag of potato chips for $15.50. Seriously?? I can get a cold deli meat turkey sandwich anywhere for $10. You're supposed to be a BBQ restaurant. You're smoked turkey sandwich should be banging/out of this world! Real, warm smoked turkey piled high, loaded cole slaw and enough melted Swiss cheese to taste it. Come on!! I was there today for lunch, the portions were small, the lunch menu is quite different from the dinner menu so l wasn't able get the ribs and the floor was littered with discarded sugar packet wrappers and other debri, my chair had food stuck in the slats. There was plenty of staff so that wasn't an issue, someone could have cleaned! The wood that is stacked near the parking lot for smoking your food or barbque had some type greenish growth whether it be a fungus or diseased, that was a turn off as well.
