On first glance, the dish was nothing special. A messy orange, thick sauce laid atop a mound of dry Thai Noodles, all topped with little cubes of tuna. But it had a certain luster to it that I couldnt quite pin down, a certain care to the arrangment of the food. The sauce, while messy, was perfectly spead across the noodles, not touching the bowl, like a glaze on a hotcake. The warm comforting rose tint of the tuna was set perfectly center, little green tints of garnishing giving that aromatic touch I am so used to.I am handed a spoon and fork. "Mix the dish"I do as instructed, and immediately realize how firm, yet perfectly cooked the noodles are. How tender is the texture of the tuna. The sauce's cooled outer layer peeles apart to reveal a silky, light sauce. It mixes in and settles on everything; little blotches of orange adding dynamic to the little rose cubes and white noods.I take my first bite. Oh my god. I close my eyes. What is happening? My clothes melt away. What is this flavor? My soul leaves my body. How is the tuna so soft? What magical world have I been transported too? I am blinded by the flavor that just entered my existence. I am changed. I am in the Palate Pleasure Palace. A place the Gods built for themselves, for their own amusement and indulgence. Amazing. I press the tuna against the roof of my mouth -- the noodles hold shape and form as the tuna literally disintegrates into a beautiful umami coat, covering and warming my tongue, the smooth, rich flavor of the sauce wrapping around like a warm, rich scarf. Incredible. I let the flavors linger until I've calmed down and take another bite. I open my eyes. There is still so much more here! Can I relive that moment once more? Can I return to the Palate Pleasure Palace?I take another bite, and another. Every bite. The same experience. By the end of the dish I am full and in a state of ecstasy. It's a good thing I didn't bring a date, because the night ends here. Pure bliss. Please, for the love of God, please take your tongue on a vacation here and order their signature dish.
Just an outstanding experience while visiting Madrid. is located conveniently. It's about halfway between either the Tirso de Molina and La Latina Metro stop. Surprisingly, not many reviews on yelp but well worth your time. it was our favorite restaurant during a 3+ week trip to Spain.  We enjoyed it so much that we came to nights in a row ( as they are closed on Mondays).  While you do not absolutely need a reservation if you show up at 8 o'clock in the evening, they are popular enough that they will only give you a one hour seating time. This is enough to have a pleasant meal but if you really want to enjoy yourself make a reservation ahead of time. What makes this place so good? Of course, the food is outstanding. The pork dish melts in your mouth and on the second night I decided to get the tuna sashimi with kimchi mayonnaise special which seems to be on the menu fairly regularly.the explosion of flavor when I took my first bite was incredible. The first night I had cerviche which was fine though I think there are better choices. The thing that makes this a complete experiences that the staff is wonderful. They're hard-working, happy, helpful, and smile at you. This total ambience that they are both serving good food and also enjoy having you there is something that very few restaurants offer.  at the end of our second meal, our favorite server even brought us each an aperitif to show complete our meal in typical Spanish fashion. Can't say enough about this place. We spent €40 the first night for two of us and 60 the second for meal that I would clearly be willing to spend $150-200 for the US.
While on vacation in Madrid, I was having a difficult time finding food that I really liked. I read the reviews for Toga and decided to make dinner reservations there for my birthday. Toga did not disappoint!!!!! The reviews were spot on.....the food was AMAZING!!! They had a menu in English and all of the wait staff spoke English as well, which was a benefit, as our Spanish was limited. We ordered based on what our waiter suggested and were happy we did. We started with the ceviche (butterfish), which just melted in our mouths. Definitely mix it up before eating to blend in the avocado cream!! Then we ordered 2 orders (for 4 people), of the noodles with tuna. Wow, I thought nothing could compare to the butterfish, but this rivaled it for sure! I could have ordered and eaten one of each just for myself, because I didn't want the meal to end. Last we ordered the Iberian pork and again, the flavors were to die for!!!!! Not only was the food incredible, the atmosphere was comfortable and the waiters were friendly and very helpful!! So glad we concluded our trip to Madrid with a meal at Toga. I would go back to Spain just so that I could eat at Toga again!!
