Food is great. Very tasty. Large portions can be shared. Service with a cute smile. Somewhat pricey, but it is midtown Manhattan near Times Square. One of our favorite destination. Never disappoints.
Tony's has fantastic family style foods! The chicken parmigiana is fantastic along with the linguini and white clam sauce. best i've had in a while.
If Times Square is the center of the universe, then Tony's Di Napoli is at the heart of the center because it feels just about every tourist in the city eats here when they visit the Big Apple. Although, locals like me love it too. And why not? The restaurant not only serves superb family style Italian food, but in what seems to be limitless amounts of it and, in cases of parties, the latter is true. I had visited Tony's multiple times in the past and each and every experience has been almost a copy of the previous. The restaurant will forever be crowded, especially during peak times, so MAKE RESERVATIONS, and the amount of food for each dish SHOULD be shared because you will always receive a mountain of it. Anyhow, on my most recent trip to Tony's, I was here for a group dinner party. We had a large table of 15 people and had the menu pre-planned already based on selections that were made prior to us arriving. Our group chose the $54 party planning option, so in total, we received 1 salad, 2 appetizers, 3 pastas, 3 entrees and 1 seafood dish. If that sounds like a lot of food, it was! We easily could have fed an entire football team. In fact, this would be the perfect place for a football team to dine. With the exception of the house salad that we all received individually, everything else was shared family style with 3 of each dish being placed on our large table. It was pretty insane having 3 of every one of those large plates being placed on our table. Saying that space was limited was a huge understatement. In addition, not only did our table receive 3 of every dish we ordered, but it was unlimited, meaning the 3 servings of every dish were just to start! If we wanted more of any of our selections, we freely could have asked for seconds, thirds, fourths, etc! Some of the highlights and my favorites included the Stuffed Mushrooms, Eggplant Parmigiana and Sauteed Broccoli Rabe. Those were the absolute standouts from the feast we had. I mean, who doesn't love stuffed mushrooms, right? As for the Eggplant Parmigiana, it was well-fried and the serving sizes of each piece were perfect. They actually reminded me of fried tomatoes, but larger. And, Broccoli Rabe. I'm a bit biased because it's probably my favorite vegetable to eat at restaurants, but they make it very flavorful here with the amount of garlic included. When customers come here, you should really know what to expect already. There will definitely be long lines, so like I said, do yourself a favor and reserve a table. Also, since the restaurant is so big and so many people can dine at once, it's going to be very loud as well. Everyone is here to have good food, have a good time and socialize. Lastly, bring an appetite! You're wasting your money if you're not arriving at the point of starvation. OK maybe not starvation, but you get my point. This place was built and designed for extremely hungry people, so if you love Italian food and come here hungry, you're golden.
