Food was quite nice but wow... I hope you've won lotto before you go because it's super expensive for what you get. In terms of service, 2 people walked past us at the bar 3 times before one stopped to serve us. When we went to order our starters and mains, they informed us that the food arrives when it arrives and they can't guarantee that the starters arrive first ... youd think you can just make life easy and do them first but no ... so I said cancel the mains for now and I'll come back and order that. Meals arrive and we ask for a steak knife. The KID who served us, then said "oh yeah they're over there in the grey basket". No offer to bring them over, not even when I rudely commented back "oh I guess I'll go grab them then" lol In terms of atmosphere, it's a local pub and the atmosphere is reflective of that. It's a nice place for a meal if you're rich, but don't expect much from the staff. It'd be somewhere I'd go if you're a local wanting to relax after a hard day with a beer (but not a meal), but otherwise I'd pass on this place. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

Second time dining at the Turangi Tavern. It was just as satisfying as the first. Food 10/10. Staff & Service 10/10. Looking forward to a third visit... I could do with another serving of your sticky date pudding. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
