I have been to the Tutored Chef 3 times. Each visit has been a pleasure. I really enjoy being able to try so many different things in a single meal. Presentation is always a feast for the eyes. Service is very pleasant. Being able to watch the chefs work on items though the glass window is a fun feature of this restaurant. So far I've only done the 3 or 4 course meal instead of the full 5 and I've always felt the amount of food was just right to feel full without being stuffed. Volume level is perfect for conversations. I recommend this restaurant for people who like to try new things. This restaurant does require a little planning since they are only open twice a week certain times of years due to it being a teaching environment. Price is a good value for a truly enjoyable experience. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50

Excellent food and experience! The service was great with everything coming out in a timely manner. The price point is also great for what you're getting- we got the 3 course but you can get up to 5. Everything was rich and delicious! Only thing to know before going is that it is BYOB. Overall, great experience and would go back.

Tutored Chef is a hidden gem in Tampa! Literally hidden since it's in the Art Institue of Tampa, you'd never guess there's a whole restaurant operation inside. To get a reservation, you have to message their Facebook page. Right before we went, they actually changed the menu to being more southern style food which I thought was interesting, but it turned out to be great. I believe they change it every few months or every semester. The chefs are all culinary students, and the price is extremely good for a multi-course meal. We got 3 courses each and shared some of them. The highlights for me were the burrata salad and the dessert, which was a decadent chocolate bourbon bread pudding. Will definitely come back to try a different style of menu too! Note: it is bring your own wine/alcohol which they didn't tell us beforehand.
