I took a Grab to this cafe because of the positive reviews and I was looking for a quiet place amidst the bustle of Bangkok. It was a disappointing experience for me. Came on a weekend afternoon. When I walked in, I didn't realise this cafe was situated in a hidden lane and was part of a small hotel. No one greeted me or showed me to a seat. You just walk in and figure it out yourself. I saw a sign saying to order and pay at the counter- the cafe cashier doubles up as hotel reception. The lunch menu was very limited- a few choices of Thai rice dishes and western pasta. I ordered the shrimp omelette rice and Thai green milk tea. My drink came fast and was very delicious- they used real matcha powder instead of the usual sweet syrup in Thai green milk tea. My food however took a long time, even though the cafe wasn't exactly crowded and I saw that most customers had finished their food and were simply chilling. The cafe is open air and sheltered. There's an area where they display retro items and another area where there are day beds you can lie down on and those were very popular. There was soft music playing in the background. When my food finally came, I saw the waitress bring it to me from the kitchen, and I was told to go to a self service area to take my own utensils/ napkin/ drinking water. The thing is, the self service area is a few steps away from the kitchen. I don't understand why the staff can take my plate of rice from the kitchen to my table but cannot take a few steps more to get the utensils when it's nearby and on the way; but ask customers to get up and get them ourselves? If that's the case, they might as well ask customers to collect their food from the kitchen counter and then head to the self service area after that since its nearby anyway and more efficient? I have hardly eaten any bad Thai food in Thailand but my shrimp omelette rice was basically tasteless :( I expected it to come with Thai chilli sauce but it wasn't included. The staff who took my order and who served me the food were all very friendly and nice though. The place wasn't quiet either. There was a large group dining there and a family with a noisy kid so the ambience was like a market.. What a letdown. Sadly I won't be back. Kid-friendliness: Kids can run around Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ฿100–200 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3 Parking space: Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options: Free street parking

Can't evaluate the food because it was too late for a coffee and etc... DON'T GO TOO LATE, because for them 10:30am is already too late for a coffee.

We missed breakfast in our hotel so we decided to see the temples without breakfast in our stomachs which went well until we had to walk a long way heading nowhere. We entered Tanao Road and before we knew it, we saw the Unbranded Cafe which is in fact a very tiny cafe so it seems. Until you walk towards the back, up the stairs, through the kitchen and there you find an airconditioned part of the cafe which allows you to have a beautfiul breakfast set with a nice drink and believe me, you will leave a stuffed turkey. Perfect breakfast, a definite new place to be for me when in BKK!
