Best place in Marvo!! Exelent food, wine and atmosphere!!!
Everything was great!!!
Varanda do Alentejo is one of the few restaurants in Marvão. It is on the second floor of a building, and offers beautiful views of the countryside through its large windows. Decor inside was pleasant. Parking is available on the square in front of the restaurant. In order to have access to the tables with better views, a reservation is highly recommended. I started my meal with Sopa de Tomate a Moda Antiga (Traditional Tomato Soup); it was a substantial soup, with a lot of vegetables in it, besides tomatoes. For my main course, I had Migas com Magusto de Carnes (Crumbs with Grilled Pork); it tasted fine, but the pork was a bit chewy; honestly, I was expecting more, as this dish was marked as recommended in the menu. I finished the meal with Sericaia com Ameixa (Baked Egg Dessert with Plum); the highlight of the dessert for me was the plum, which had been cooked in sugar, which brought back memories of a sweet I used to have when I was a kid; the plum complemented well the egg dessert. Food presentation was simple. Service was friendly and attentive.
