We enjoyed a nice dinner with three people at Wirtshaus Zum Straubinger while visiting Munich during Oktoberfest. With a reservation made the same day through Open Table, we did not have any wait upon arriving to be seated. The service was nice, and the food was good. The prices were fair for the portion sizes. I would recommend Wirtshaus for a good, traditional German meal. Wirtshaus Zum Straubinger has a nice selection of drinks, including German beer. The menu is mostly traditional German food but does have some lighter options. I had a fantastic side salad with my meal - the Pork Knuckle, which I was really excited to try and wanted to order at least once on our trip. This was the only time I tried the dish, but it was delicious; the outside was crispy and the inside was meaty. I would highly recommend this, and the dumplings that came on the side were good too. My other two dining companions ordered duck, which was also excellent. Wirtshaus was a pleasant dinner in a cozy atmosphere and traditional German food. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation through Open Table.
