This is the best fish and chip shop in Christchurch. No question. Food is fresh, cooked to perfection, and the staff are the friendliest you will ever meet. Lovely neighbourly feel to this shop.To Drsauceplayz, who complained about the chips being soggy: I feel your pain and can explain the problem. The chips are nice and crispy when they come out of the fryer, but when wrapped in paper, they continue to cook in their own steam, and become soggy. Solution: if you live locally and eat them soon, no problem. If you live further out, be sure to open the parcel asap, and let them "breathe" some excess steam out, then close the parcel when contents are cool enough not to steam.A food choice tip: Try the mince patties, rather than the meat patties. They are amazing, especially on a cold winter's day! This must be their specialty, never seen such a patty in any other shop. Well done Westminster Takeaways, please keep up your great standard! If I could, I'd give you 10 out of 5 stars!
