It's been years since I went through this park, but I'll never forget how sad the petting zoo made me feel. There was a porcupine that could barely turn around in it's enclosure and a small primate that was supposed to be in a group that was in an enclosure with a parrot, but no others of its kind. A huge snake had no place to stretch or get out of the public eye, and the cougar had only part of a tree to climb on. The whole thing was sad. Wait time: No wait

Over the last 15 years we have made significant changes through out the entire park, many of our animal habitats have been expanded and continue to grow. We are also currently in the middle of a major renovation of our petting zoo that will offer more space to all of our residents in that area of the Safari Village. More

It was an amazing experience. All the staff was so friendly and helpful and to see the care they provide for the animals is amazing. What they have behind the scenes we may never know but thats just the magic that goes into the conservation of this park. You can visually see all of the animals are happy and well cared for by specialized vets and caretakers that take the job serious. Without the staff and their love for animals and the way they run their conservation methods we may have already lost many of the species we have grown to love today.

I had not been to Wildlife Safari in many years & we took my 6 year old daughter to the Winston location as it's one of her favorite places to go. The outing was fun, and besides my daughter's excitement, her mother & I both enjoyed the visit, yet there are a couple areas that could be improved on. Our main observation was that certain animal habitats seemed to be purposely difficult to see within unless you paid extra cash $$ to be on a tour that featured a safari vehicle & special access. I was disappointed by that, feeling a little deprived of the full experience. I did notice that many animals had a look of sadness, mainly the carnivores. This could be just a coincidence with my observation purely speculative in nature. I must say, overall, it was a good day & we were able to see a lot of animals & most importantly, my 6 year old daughter had a good time, ince even saying it was as if she were in a dream. *we will go again with the hopes of having even greater success seeing the wide variety of animals at Wildlife Safari in Winston, Oregon.
