Let's start with the overall rating for Wild Garlic, it's a 3 star and it's just about accurate.  Front of house greeting is quick and efficient but not exactly hospitable.  The server was exceptionally knowledgeable and knew the specials well, there were FAR too many specials, by my count 12.  Pick 2-3 things that the team can execute flawlessly and that guests can read without becoming overwhelmed.  We started with the garlic shrimp, flawlessly executed shrimp but with some plate additions that don't quite make sense; namely the veg and rendered Brie cheese...   We moved on to the entrees, the stuffed salmon and the linguine bolognese.  The salmon was executed flawlessly but the "stuffing" was awful. It tasted of Suis Vide seafood with a spongy, eggy texture, basically inedible, the risotto was nice but not inspiring and the dish was overall very busy; photo is attached.  The bolognese was entirely another concern, there was no tomato to cut the richness of the meat, leaving the palate to contend with a gummy dish, it would be better described as a gummy, greasy version of stroganoff.  There was significant activity on the plate that simply did not belong, not the least of which were Brussel sprouts and undercooked root vegetables. Desert was the pecan torte with sea salted gelato. The gelato was good but the torte tasted as though it were commercially prepared.  At a price point of about $100 a person I would expect far better execution of the dishes, not just an optical execution.  In short, I would not consider it a bad experience but it is not one I would seek out again.  This is a great example of less is more, simplify the menu and spend a bit more time perfecting it.  In conclusion the ambiance was fine, but the dining room is loud, nothing a few foam ceiling tiles couldn't solve.  And finally, the dining experience isn't quick and that would be fine if that extra time was spent making sure each dish was perfect.  I think this place has significant potential to be absolutely inspiring, it just needs a bit of direction and a more focused approach.

Wild Garlic is my favorite restaurant in Tucson. The portions are huge and the food is fresh and amazing! The outdoor patio is my favorite to have a sunset dinner. I love their risotto! Highly recommended.

The food as always is delicious. My husband and I have been going to wild garlic grill for years . We love the grilled shrimp with warm Brie . It truly is a must . Our entrees were delicious and my daughter enjoyed her heaping amount of pasta! The service is slow due to all the tables the staff must wait on . Enjoy your meal and if you want a fast paced dinner this isn't the place for you . The ambiance in the patio is very quiet compared to inside . There is a lot of heaters to keep everyone warm in the winter months.
