First time here. Came here with the girls for brunch. Very cute place. Makes you feel like your home. One of the girls recommended this spot and told us we have to try the Monte Cristo and so we ordered it. Wow, it's unbelievable. The French Toasts was covered in pure maple syrup topped with maple butter, strawberries and toasted hazelnuts. They were filled with ham and cheese. The portion size is good for two people. I ended up taking the other half home to the husband to try. He said it was really good. Great place for brunch. Friendly customer service. Definitely coming back!
Lunch from end of June 2019: Special: Prosciutto and melon salad. Amazing; both melons super sweet and ripe. Mixed greens had light flavorful dressing, slices of prosciutto rimmed the plate. Outstanding! Brie and Black Forest Ham sandwich. Spouse said this was perfectly balanced with good quality Brie and ham. Only negative: bread was the type when toasted, the crust is like a rock! Bread was delicious but he didn't eat any of the crusts. Side of polenta: Spouse adores WW's polenta. We consider it one of the best in the entire SFBA. Kid's portion is a perfect "side size". Roasted pork loin with spinach, mushrooms, and polenta. Pork was excellent; rosemary and black pepper seared onto a grilled cutlet. The brown au jus was perfectly balanced; flavorful without excessive salt. Mushrooms were a mix of button, king, and shiitake, along with wilted baby spinach. Outstanding dish! Gingerbread. This is, I swear to you, one of the reasons we visit Sonoma County so often. NOBODY ELSE makes this amazing, dark brown, slightly sweet spice cake. It is a single layer, moist and fragrant with a pouf of whipped cream on the side. ORDER IT. We visit Willow Wood every single time we come to Sonoma County. Every. Single. Time. We can afford to dine anywhere we want, and this restaurant has remained on our "must dine every trip" for the last ten years.
If this restaurant does not figure out that they need extensive training in customer service and kitchen speed, there won't be many customer's returning. Skip it for now, unless you want to wait an hour for a meal that's mediocre.
