We were looking for a nice place for dinner for our first night is Cascais after departing from Lisbon and opted for Taberna da Praca after reading all of the 5-star reviews.  And having experienced dinner there, I completely agree on 5-stars. Wow, first, it is in a beautiful setting that is quiet and peaceful, perfect for unwinding with a glass of wine after a day of walking and sightseeing.  Our waitress was super nice, offering us blankets to help us stay warm as we opted to sit outside. Their wine-by-the-glass selection is quite good and our waitress' recommendations were fantastic.  I attached a bottle of one of the wines we had - sadly, the food looked so good and we were so hungry, we forgot to photograph the dishes except for our dessert, LOL. My son had a medium rare steak which was tender and well seasoned. Perfect for his carnivore nature.  It came with a poached egg and french fries as well as a garlic aioli sauce and creamed spinach. My daughter had "duck rice" which is rice cooked with shredded duck mixed with cabbage and carrots and served with a duck leg on top.  This was also very flavorful and perfectly prepared. My wife and I shared the sausage bread which was 2 large crusty dinner rolls covered in a mixture of diced sausage and a thick luscious cheese.  This was followed by 7 juicy prawns including the heads which were just so so good.  And we had the octopus salad which was a cold salad with sliced octopus tentacles with greens, tomatoes, olives, and radish slices served in a light vinaigrette dressing.  OMG, very good.  So good, that as mentioned above, we forgot to take pictures to share. But we finished the night with an apple tart with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream.  This time we remembered to take a photo but only after we had take a few bite. I highly recommend this spot if you are willing to take a short walk out of the downtown area of Cascais.
