The evening left us with a somewhat ambivalent impression. First the positive aspects: The food was of exquisite quality. The starter (Herrgottsbscheißerle...) was beautifully presented, the mushrooms had an intense taste. The saddle of venison that followed was tender as butter and cooked to perfection, and the venison strudel bagel was very aromatic. The rowan berry sauce served with it went wonderfully with the game, but I would have liked a little more quantity here. The iced version of the two kinds of red cabbage was intensely flavored and, in my opinion, rather neutral in the breaded version. Just a matter of taste. The Walser Alpbrot casserole was interesting, but the anise tone dominated too much for my taste. The mountain lentils were nice and firm to the bite and went well with the mountain cheese dumplings. Finally, the dessert (praline from the truffle parfait) was very tasty and was well accompanied by the other components. Overall, a culinary delight. The wine list leaves nothing to be desired. Our 2015 Blaufränkisch Jois from the Scheiblhofer winery was thankfully decanted at the table, the dessert wine (Beerenauslese from Sauvignon Blanc from the Tschida winery) went perfectly with the praline. The moderate pricing of the wines is also noteworthy. If only the greeting had been correct... we apparently arrived 30 minutes early due to a misunderstanding, which the service employee didn't like at all and told us about it in a remarkably unfriendly manner. We actually wanted to turn back straight away...luckily Ms. Denk saved the situation. An apology for the employee's rude behavior would have been nice and would have been in line with the restaurant's standards. The sound makes the music... and is part of the overall impression. By the way, other guests arrived 5 minutes after us, also early... and were greeted very courteously. Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
