I love supporting the artisans who create exquisite handmade children's clothing at The Women's Exchange. My favorite baby shower gift was a classic St. Louis cherry suit that celebrities from the Kennedys to Andy Cohen dress their children in "the cherry dress (or suit for the boys)". When my boys were little, I'd buy smocked and applique jon jons and longalls here and it is my "go to" store for St. Louis Cardinal or cherry dresses for baby or one year old birthday gifts. Recently, I purchased a beautiful tablecloth handmade by a New American/refugee woman as a holiday present for my mother in law. Besides the artisans, they stock resort and boutique brands for women and have great gifts and stocking or basket stuffers. My favorite memories are having a girls' lunch here with my mom and aunts and grandmother. I love their signature salad and more modern menu updates. It's a great nonprofit. I wish they had not eliminated their weekend dining hours. Right now, it is for special events/hosted events. Even so, I still shop here despite living across the country.

I ordered the "Woman's Exchange Salad" and cup of homemade soup as a quick and light lunch. The salad was all fresh, no mushy tomatoes or wet, oily lettuce. The Chicken and hard boiled egg finish was a nice touch, and made for a filling and fresh meal all on its own. The soup was equally as good, but not as hearty. It was a vegetable soup, with a tomato soup base that had corn, carrots, peas and a couple of other ingredients. It was very good, but best as a side in my opinion. Well done, would definitely order again.
