The perfect yakiniku experience in Taipei! Today, on the first of May, we came here to try their TENNO set and upgraded it to A5 Wagyu. At first, as a big eater, I thought I wouldn’t feel full with just this kind of set meal, but from the appetizer and salad all the way to dessert, every course was satisfying and surprisingly fulfilling. The quality of the meat was excellent, especially the A5 Wagyu, which was rich, tender, and absolutely delicious. The server was also amazing—very attentive, helpful, and professional throughout the whole dining experience. Overall, it was a really pleasant and memorable dining experience at this yakiniku restaurant. Definitely will come back to try their other set menus next time Meal type: Lunch Price per person: NT$2,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

At 燒肉中山(台北信義店), dining is not merely an act of consumption—it is a carefully orchestrated experience that celebrates the quiet poetry of fire, fat, and time. From the moment the meal begins, there is a sense of deliberate pacing. The progression of dishes feels thoughtful rather than hurried, allowing each course to speak in its own voice. The premium wagyu selections, presented with restrained elegance, exemplify this philosophy. Each cut arrives glistening, its marbling a delicate lattice that promises richness without excess. Once kissed by heat, the meat yields effortlessly—tender, almost silken—releasing a gentle sweetness that lingers rather than overwhelms. A subtle accompaniment of wasabi or citrus elevates rather than masks, sharpening the natural depth of the beef. Equally compelling is the interplay of textures across the courses. The lightly charred beef tongue offers a pleasing resilience, while the wagyu cubes deliver a more indulgent, buttery softness. Even the more unexpected elements—such as the pairing of grilled chicken neck with pickled pineapple—demonstrate a refined understanding of contrast. The acidity cuts cleanly through the richness, refreshing the palate with precision. The supporting dishes are far from incidental. A composed platter of grilled vegetables—corn, zucchini, and peppers—adds both color and a gentle smokiness, grounding the meal in seasonality. The signature rice box, layered with uni, wagyu, and salmon roe, is particularly memorable: briny, creamy, and umami-rich, it unfolds in waves of flavor that feel both luxurious and deeply satisfying. Dessert, often an afterthought in many establishments, is treated here with equal care. The chocolate fondant arrives warm and understated, its molten center flowing slowly, complemented by a restrained sweetness that avoids excess. It closes the meal with quiet confidence. Beyond the plate, the atmosphere deserves equal mention. Set against the soft light of the cityscape, the space feels intimate yet unpretentious. Service is attentive without intrusion, marked by a calm professionalism that enhances the overall experience. What distinguishes 燒肉中山 is not extravagance, but restraint. There is a clear respect for ingredients, an understanding that true luxury lies in balance and precision rather than spectacle. It is a restaurant that trusts its craft—and in doing so, invites its guests to slow down, to notice, and to savor. This is not simply a place to dine; it is a place to appreciate the quiet mastery of Japanese-style yakiniku at its most thoughtful. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
