It's a chippy. It specialises in excellent fish & chips. Fish is fresh and cooked to order by Yanni himself. Counter staff are chatty, friendly and call everybody "Love", which is right and proper for a traditional chippy. There are a small number of tables to eat-in/out. It's my forever chippy. 2 things to watch: It's cash only (various ATMs close by) and the curry tends to be on the strong side - which suits me fine. Wheelchair accessibility: Good. Entrance via a shallow ramp and staff / customers willl open the door for you if needed, though it's only closed if the weather is particularly cold outside. Yanni's was hands-down the best fish and chips we had in the U.K. (or really anywhere for that matter). The batter on the fish was so light, not at all greasy and most definitely delicious. The fish was firm and flaky... crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Served with either tarter or curry; both are super. The staff was lovely and the outside seating is perfect for people watching.
