Yummy is a great place for some Cantonese staples. If you need your fix of a warm rice place and herbal tea (for your yet hay). A mom and pop shop that greets you with a smile. Cash only!
My favorite little shop in Quincy. I wish every Chinese place was as good, cheap, and authentic as this place. The soy sauce braised duck is amazing and tender and everything is so fragrant. My go-to is the spare ribs and veg over rice. Simple, tasty, and fills your heart with love. I discovered it while working in Quincy in 2014 and try to go anytime I'm in the area.
Been 20 years since I left N Quincy & things have changed. Def lot more Asian good eats right on Hancock. Went to Yummy Cafe based on friends' recommendation & was impressed. Beef black bean sauce chow fun: excellent flavors & texture, only a true Cantonese chef can accomplish this Rice noodle soup with tripe & beef brisket: we asked for the less fatty briskets and it was still very tender, good tripes. Broth was light, not fatty at all like Ding Tai Fung, yet still has that good satisfying beef flavor to it. Hot soy milk: you can tell it's fresh, good natural soy flavor & texture with only tiny amount of sugar added. The owner said she soaks fresh batch of beans each nite & grinds it in the morning before serving. Navigating to the bathroom is quite an interesting experience. Overall Yummy Cafe serves good casual Cantonese food at very reasonable price, I will def be back next time I m in town.
