We came on a weekday for lunch and got seated right away.  The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated and even the bathroom is clean which is uncommon with most Chinese restaurants.  The food is very good, XLB are well made with tasty soup inside.  You do have to wait a bit for it to cool down.  Pan fried buns are crispy and delicious.  We also ordered the special noodle with spareribs and the meat is very tender.  Service is good and attentive.  We will definitely go back to this place.

We were craving some good sheng jian bao (SJB, 生煎包), and reviews were good for this place.  Kids were napping, so we had to do takeout, but I figured SJB is better as a takeout option than XLB. I was a little confused since they're also called Special Noodle, but it sounds like they're owned by the same people as the other Special Noodle? We ordered ahead online via Fantuan, and they had some extra fees but also had a coupon, so we ended up saving a few dollars that way. - SJB: wonderful soup in the filling and good thin upper crust. The bottom was more like a deep fry, so it was good and crunchy, but I personally prefer it slightly less fried. Their SJB are uniform and very pretty.  Add some black vinegar after you drink up the soup! - Spicy wontons: a good sized portion, lots of garlic and mala spice (but not too spicy) I would definitely come back!

This restaurant has rebranded as 四姐 Special Noodle (a chain). Based on photos here they continue to offer some of the same dishes as did Pan Fried Dumplings / Yummy Yummy Bao / etc. Sheng jian bao fried dumplings are pretty good, while the stone pot lamb soup disappointed especially for the price.
