Dona Casilda Park is what you should see after having a meal at Zarate. Mediterranean and Spanish cuisines are well-cooked at this restaurant. Many guests point out that waiters serve mouthwatering sea bass, noodles and antipasto here. Zarate offers you good gâteau, gelato and cheesecakes. Delicious txakoli, white wine or cordial will make your meal tastier and you'll certainly come back. It's nice to order great cortado.

While attending a conference in Bilbao, I wanted to check out Zarate since it was a Michelin one star rated restaurant. If if you have the ability to treat yourself, go for the 15 dish tasting menu. All but I two choices are seafood based (go with it since Bilbao is known for seafood). Service was great, but they don't offer the traditional pairing for wine. That said, they do serve wine by the glass, and the sommelier is very helpful. The pictures don't lie. The food is just as good in tour mouth. Recommended for all foodies alike. I will be back!!!
Our last evening in Bilbao before heading off to Lisbon. We got the tasting menu which includes 11 dishes 1. Oyster in a spicy monkfish broth served with citric caviar and mustard (Wonderfully prepared broth) 2. Anchovies and roasted peppers on a seaweed toast (Absolutely perfect and well-balanced flavors) 3. Bar of citric foie gras (Unusually imaginative) 4. Homemade pickled vegetable salad with prawns marinated in Ponzu sauce (Refreshing!) 5. Mussels in a lightly spiced tomato and basil soup - Begihaundi cuttlefish noodles with mushroom carbonara (Trick of the eye with the cuttlefish noodles. Rich and appetizing) - Truffled egg on mashed potatoes and mushrooms, ham and olive oil (One of my favorite combination in the world - mushrooms & eggs but elevated) - Fish of the day - hake (pil pil-styled cheek - very tender) - Iberian pork shoulder loin, blood pudding and apple - Yogurt, cherries and violets (beautiful fragrant) - Citric cloud (to aid digestion after such a sumptuous meal!)
