I have been going there for years and it was alway decent food and good service.  But the past year the it has all gone down hill.  And it had nothing to do with covid.  The brunches started going down hill when some genius--kidding, had the idea of hiring a d.j. to play music during brunch.  It was always so loud that I tried to get the outdoor table that was farthest away from the outdoor tent.  Then they started getting getting rid of the starters.  One was a soup that was really tasty.  They just had a select items--entrés.  Today was the last brunch at the Ashland location.  Thank God.  The week before the manager said it would be all you can eat and drink for $40 each person.  When we got there it was buffet.  And the buffet was super basic--aka cold scrambled eggs, etc.  Like motel 6 basic.  And the mimosas tasted like the orange juice they were using went bad last century.  But the worst was the volume of the music.  It was so damn loud that no one at our table could hear each other talk.  Ugh. And our table was furthest away from the d.j.!!! Three drunk, future Karens were dancing to the Macarena in an annoying conga line near the buffet.  We left asap because the music was bad, and DEAFENING!!!  Instead of sad that it's closing, we are so happy that it's closing and we won't ever have to be forced to listen to the Windy City's worst d.j. ruin our brunch of stale mimosas and bad buffet food.  My friend asked the manager if he could turn down the music, but the manager essential said no.  What kind of crappy manager lets the music be so deafening that customer complain and he does nothing.   They also wouldn't open the sliding patio doors to let some of the music escape.  The music was literally so loud that no one in the main dining room could've heard anything anyone at their own table yelled at them at the top of their lungs.  Since we couldn't hear each other, even when we screamed, got the hell out of there.  Zia's Lago Vista, glad you and your worthless manager are gone. Don't come back to Lakeville until you learn that people doing brunch want to talk to one another, not listen to blaring, crappy pop hits from 1996.  If they have brunch in hell, it would be better than it was today.  If they ever open another Zia's in our neighborhood I won't go if it's the same manager, or d.j.  THE WORST BRUNCH EVER!!!   Asta La Vista  Zia's Lago Vista or By Felcia...
