Zileat-Budapest When visiting Budapest last February, we stayed on the Buda side of the Danube River in a nice Airbnb. Just below our apartment, two doors down, was Zileat. Upon seeing the menu, we were intrigued and had to try it. The restaurant is small, and on a chilly February day, it was packed. A nice server found a place for the three of us. I looked around at the plates on other tables and was amazed by the amount of food on each plate. If you’re hungry, this is the place. Everything on the breakfast menu sounded interesting, so we each ordered a different item to share a taste of three. We ordered Eggs Benedict, the Breakfast Criminal, the Brekky Bacon Pancakes, and three cappuccinos. The cappuccinos were out of this world. When our friendly server brought the three dishes, we were flabbergasted by the amount of food brought to the table. There was enough food to serve six people. The Eggs Benedict had a flawless Hollandaise Sauce over the perfectly poached eggs over a bed of fresh greens. The Breakfast Criminal, huge as well, is three scrambled eggs, tons of bacon, with sweet potato cream, and a bit of hot spice. Brekky Bacon Pancake consists of American pancakes, two fried eggs, cream cheese, and bacon chips, and four pieces of fantastic bacon. Everything was outstanding! Something I will try next time we visit is the pulled chicken sandwich. Chicken with gooey cheddar cheese and pickled onion. The reviews rave about it. Zileat was opened in 2021 by Zilia Mocsari. Her passion for healthy food mixed with her culinary excellence shines through when you see the menu and taste the food. Zileat Brunch and Bistro is a gastronomic success. We will be back. I could eat this every day. Absolutely delightful food, service, and sunny patio vibes about 2 on a leisurely Saturday. We really enjoyed the Lucso and Italian soup after a tram circuit of the river.
