We found zuko's pizza during covid, on a cold snowy winter night. When the idiots tried to shut everything down. We have been a regular customer sense. Joe the owner, and other family members d o a awesome job. Last night I was in the store. A delivery driver came in for an order. They asked what the customers name was, and the individual just held up their phone so the employee can look at the name. That's not there jobs! What kind of idiots are we hiring? It's everywhere we go now. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: The Wifey, Meat Pizza, Wings

This is without a doubt the best Ohio Style pizza I've eaten anywhere. Period. The only other one that comes close is Tommy's pizza on Lane and High. I live in Marysville so I don't get out to Hilliard very often and when I do I go to DiCarlo's pizza as I love their pizza but this time I decided to try to find something new and expand my boundaries a little bit so I hit up Yelp! and found this highly rated pizza place.

I headed on over and arrived to find a really cool little newer-looking shop that sit right beside a sports bar. At first I was dismayed that the pizza place had nowhere to sit and I'd have to sit in the bar but then once I ended up in the bar it really is a pretty nice and clean bar so that was a non-issue.

When I arrived I met Bob, one of the owners, and shook his hand. I had been pretty impressed with Bob and how he had interacted online with some people who had talked about his pizza. He seemed to really care about his product and wanted to do his best to reach out to the "pizza community". I know, I know, some of us take our pizza more seriously than others but there really are a bunch of us pizza nuts who discuss pizza.

Meeting Bob was great, he was super friendly and answered all of my inane questions about how he makes his pizza and all the different types of toppings, etc. I swear I could have stood there and talked pizza all darned day with Bob but in the end I was hungry so I input an order for a Triple Double pizza (double sauce, double cheese and double old world pepperoni, the slightly spicy type that curls up when it cooks, OMG!), added mushrooms to half and went on over to the bar to await the pie. Of course not every great pizza shop has to have a super friendly owner who will talk to us pizza lovers if they offer great pizza (I'm looking at you grumble bear DiCarlo's Pizza) but it sure as heck helps my perception of the place and whether or not I feel welcome and I have never felt so welcome as I did at Zuko's pizza.

After waiting about 20 minutes or so Bob gave me my pizza through the little window that connects the bar to the pizza shop and I was ready to dine. Of course it was a bar so it was basic paper plates and napkins, nothing fancy but that is fine by me! Opening up the box I was amazed at just how great the pizza looked (see the pics for yourself) and thought if it tasted half as good as it looked I was going to have a new favorite pizza place to go to regularly.

Well the actual pizza lives up to it's delicious looking looks and more! It was incredible tasting pizza. Ohio style pizza is not even my favorite type of pizza (that would be New York style which btw they also offer) but I think this pizza could make a fan of me yet. Amazing crust, just charred a slight bit on the edges, firm and a little crunchy, tangy, almost spicy and garlicky sauce, an abundance of ooey-gooey cheese and omg the star of the show is those old world style pepperonis. I have never, anywhere, tasted pepperonis this good. Not only are they a little spicy (but not too spicy mind you) but they curl and char just perfectly. And the best part is that Bob piled on a ton of them (again just look at the pictures!) on the pizza. Lastly, but not least, is the fresh mushrooms. These are no canned mushrooms, these are 100% fresh and again, no shortage of toppings here either. A lot of fantastic and huge mushrooms for the best fungi greatness a mushroom lover could ever want.

I usually eat a few slices of pizza as I just am not the big eater I used to be but I swear I sat there and just kept eating, just "one more bite...eh just one more slice...omg I can't believe I'm going in again!!" and this continued on until I was absolutely stuffed. I had eaten nearly half the darned pizza!! I got up and thanked the very nice bartender (btw the bar is really nice and the lady who works it is just super cool) and headed to my car. I couldn't help myself though before putting the pizza in the trunk and grabbed two huge more pieces "for the road"

I'm telling you this pizza is so great it's absolutely dangerous. Dangerous as in you may eat yourself into a coma! Amazing pizza, I can't recommend it enough. I do know that early on (9 months ago) when Zuko's pizza opened up they had some issues with some folks who said their pizza had a small issue with this or that (one was a person who said not enough pepperoni) well I can tell you all of those have been ironed out so if you tried their pizza early on and weren't too impressed I encourage you very, very strongly to stop in and give them another shot and you will NOT be disappointed.

Zuko's pizza shoots straight to the top of this Pizza nut's top pizza in Columbus list and I vow to return to eat there again within the next few weeks. Highly recommend and tell Bob I sent you!!
