Very historic inn at the old center of Vienna Austria
Great spot for drinks, people watching and a quick snack on the go in Vienna. Day or night.
One of the most famous eateries not only in Vienna but on this planet is Zum Schwarzen Kameel.  It deserves its fame.  This year it is celebrating its 400th birthday (1618-2018) and this hangout of Beethoven & Mozart is still a go-to place.  What I like most about Schwarzen Kameel is that it has so many faces....let me list some of them and you can see for yourself.  It's a restaurant, deli & store, bar, sidewalk café. It serves breakfast, lunch, & dinner and snacks.  You can dine here inexpensively in the bar, or enjoy table-linen fine dining in the restaurant, or just savor a wine in the people-watching Schanigarten (café).  One thing I can guarantee you is that it is always crowded - yes after 400 years it def still has a buzz about it.  And I have usually found the always white-jacketed wait staff to be efficient and mostly friendly despite being very busy. To celebrate its 400th birthday, I stopped in for a lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the Rahmgurkensalat, Wiener Backhendl (breaded fried chicken Viennese style), and Schladminger Bier. The waiter was great and very attentive.  I only hope the Schwarzen Kameel is able to celebrate a half-a-millennium birthday in 2118. (I'll unfortunately though have to miss that celebration!) Special note - Kameel is actually a variation on the family name of its founder and not the German word for camel which is Kamel.  But since everyone has always thought of the restaurant as To The Black Camel (Zum Schwarzen Kamel), it long ago gave in to the misconception and adopted a black camel as its symbol.
