I was with my wife in this wonderful place. Exciting, tasty, not expensive. I someone asks me to recommend the restaurant in Barcelona I would only recommend this one. Mine NPS is 10!!!!
Bicos was the clear and unanimous choice as the favorite restaurant we tried during a week in Barcelona. Food quality, service, ambiance, and value were all top notch during our Sunday afternoon meal. Glad we made reservations online, as it is a popular but relatively modest sized place with about 9 or so tables and a similar number of barstools. Two of us shared 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts and a nice bottle of Verdejo and each one was tasty, well prepared, and memorable (I'm writing this a week later.) The Galacian pie, hake and scallop skewers, a meat, potatoes and peppers dish, and the waitress-recommended dark chocolate dessert were simply superb to the point of being smile inducing. The friendly vibe of this cozy restaurant probably helps to trigger some smiles, as did the much nicer than average complimentary digestif that concluded our meal (4 were offered - we were happy with our selection of the coffee flavored option). English menus are available, though finding one online is a challenge. The friendly staff genuinely welcomed questions and didn't steer us wrong. Honestly can't think of a dining experience I've had in the USA that matched the quality and value of Bicos (Total cost for the 2 of us was 80 euro.) Should I find myself in Barcelona again, I'll return to Bicos.
Cute restaurant, friendly host and wait staff. Prices reasonable for quality. Food came out very fast. Knocking off a star only because I thought food wasn’t 5 star perfect (cod fish dish a touch dry). Spaces between table and table size also tight for couples as it a small restaurant. Still recommended .
