It's a delicious Sicilian dessert made of liqueur-soaked sponge cake layered with candied fruit, marzipan, sweetened ricotta and white glaze. It was traditionally cooked at Easter but one day nuns made and ate so much cassata that they broke their vow.

... The grilled fish and prawns were really good. Cassata Siciliana dessert was nice too.
