Embraced by the cerulean blue waters of the River Clyde, Glasgow is a gorgeous green giant dotted with numerous attractions. Fried chicken
Fried chicken

Fried chicken is very popular and appetizing! It has a golden crust on top, and inside it is softly juicy meat, and even cooking does not require special virtuoso skills. It can be consumed in a separate form, and in combination with potatoes, salads, vegetables, rice and even some fruits.

Anticipating your question: no, the first venue is not Lady Gaga’s altar, but we bet the pop diva would appreciate its bold, quirky design and culinary philosophy. Ga Ga is a Malaysian-inspired funky and fresh spot, with a mouthwatering exotic menu orchestrated by Chef Julie Swee Lin. In 2025, the establishment was awarded a Bib Gourmand, and rightfully so. Upon entry, you immediately fall in love with its earthy, natural interiors dotted with beautiful wicker chandeliers and eccentric canvases.

The best way to start your feast is by ordering an artisanal cocktail. Opt for strawberry & coconut Americano – a bit unconventional take on the legendary mix or Hey Ya! with Hendrick’s (obviously) and flamed absinthe mist oozing a slightly dramatic Manet’s vibe.

While sipping on the apéritif, move on to browsing the menu. Some of the delicious specialties you will discover here include spicy vegetarian Nyonya pickles (achar awak), pink kerabu noodle salad, fried chicken in Sichuan hot sauce with orange zest, prawn bao with coriander mayo, and Malaysian-style vegetable curry, to name a few.

Average bill – 25£

Fallachan Kitchen

Arch 15, 8 Eastvale Pl, Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom
Closes soon: 4PMReopens 7PM

Fallachan Kitchen doesn’t have a Michelin award yet, but the venue is among the top places recommended by the guide in Glasgow. And given its exceptional service and culinary artistry, the coveted Star or Bib Gourmand is looming on the horizon.

The restaurant is the brainchild of Chef Craig Grozier, established in 2012. An integral part of the Glasgow F&B industry, Fallachan Kitchen creates tailored specialties inspired by world cuisines using mostly local Scottish ingredients. You will get a taste of the country’s west coast, discovering its abundance of wild food prepared by implementing foraging techniques – Grozier’s signature style.

The menu draws not only from the region but also from the transience of the seasons highlighting the beauty of the dynamic change. As of this moment, some of the specialties patrons can savor here are chicken of the woods with allium pearls and smoked duck egg yolk, chilled turnip top & whey broth, Fallachan cured meats with house pickles, and East Coast lobster. By the way, the gem is an ideal choice for those of you who can’t stand crowded places – Fallachan Kitchen is a petite 12-seat communal dining chef’s table. Relish the unique delicacies and sip on a glass of exquisite Domaine de la Tournelle Trousseau des Corvées. Smooth and fresh on the palate, it creates a beautiful leitmotif for the entire meal.

Kimchi
Kimchi

Kimchi is a traditional Korean dish made with lacto-fermentation vegetables like napa cabbage and Korean radish. Kimchi usually accompanies every meal served in Korea.

The 2024 Bib Gourmand awardee, Celentano's doesn’t maintain secrecy in terms of its culinary outlook. From the name alone, you must have guessed that the place celebrates all things Italian: passion for sharing great food, savoring fantastic wine, and the genuine warmth of heartfelt hospitality. They offer not only irresistible meals – Celentano's has 8 bedrooms directly above the restaurant, and guests can enjoy a cozy breakfast in bed every morning.

You definitely have a clear understanding of what a superb Italian establishment usually provides, but wait, there’s more to expect. Revolving around zero-waste attitude and nose-to-tail approach, some of the top-recommended dishes here include smoked cod doughnuts with kimchi, linguine with cuttlefish ragu, black olive, and dill, glazed Dexter beef served with green pepper & oyster dressing, followed by Celentano’s affogato.

Those of you with dietary restrictions shouldn’t get upset over the nasty FOMO – the kitchen crew makes their gluten-free bread and pasta, so almost the entire menu can be adjusted to your needs.

Average bill – 45£

Cod
Cod

Cod is a very popular fish, the most common species of which are the Atlantic, Pacific, and Greenland cod. The fish has a mild flavor and can be cooked in many ways.

The remarkable culinary family of Ox and Finch and Ka Pao (find out more here) celebrates another proud Bib Gourmand recipient this year – Margo. It is a chic, elegant, and spacious restaurant spread over two floors. When the sun greets the dining hall through gargantuan windows, you can’t help but admire the flawless ambiance of rich wood and leather elements and subtle industrial touches.

Treat yourself to a full, generously portioned Mediterranean meal. Savor cod with squid ink rice and tempura sea vegetables, grilled pork shoulder with fennel, sour cherry, and chili, as well as grilled courgette with soybean and pine nuts. And when you see the size of the dishes, fret not: they are meant to be shared, so take it into consideration when placing an order.

We can’t proceed to the next restaurant without taking a sneak peek at Margo’s bar card: banana date old fashioned, raspberry espresso martini, and rhubarb and vanilla sour perfectly illustrate how contemporary touch elevates classic cocktails.

Average bill – 30£

Gazpacho
Gazpacho

Gazpacho is a cold soup from grinded or chopped raw vegetables, especially tomatoes. In addition, it includes olive oil and garlic, cucumbers, sweet peppers, onion, vinegar or lemon juice, salt. Spices and bread can be added.

Here's a brain teaser – our number 5 is in fact Number 16 (to find out why, click on the restaurant's name in the photo gallery and read additional information about it). This neighborhood-favorite small rustic spot on Byres Street has been serving hearty, top-quality specialties since 1999. Finally, in 2025, it was recognized not only by the devoted local community but also by the Michelin Guide. While the Thumbelina cannot boast a huge dining hall, Number 16’s hospitality fully makes up for the size. The professional team always greets guests like dearest friends and gives perfect recommendations.

The restaurant menu showcases prime Scottish produce. You must try spiced sweet potato soup with roasted cashews and chipotle yogurt, cured sea trout with cucumber and apple gazpacho, as well as striploin of Scotch beef with Isle of Wight tomatoes, beef fat hash brown, and wild garlic chimichurri. Satisfy your sweet cravings with their indulgent white chocolate and vanilla cheesecake with pineapple sorbet, coconut crumb, and compressed pineapple – a heavenly culmination.

Average bill – 45£
