Lamb's head is a traditional holiday specialty in several European and African countries. In Greece, it is the star dish for Easter, while in Western Norway, smalahove is served before Christmas. Icelandic cooks prepare it with mashed turnips and potatoes. For Muslims, the lamb’s head also has a deep religious significance.
