Best value by far
If you're hungry in Madrid & on a budget OR just want a true/fun tapas experience, El Tigre is the place. It's by far my favorite place to get tapas in Madrid. I bring all my friends visiting me here and can only describe it as "tapas on steroids" As many people you are with is how many plates of tapas you will be served (if you order a drink of course) I always opt for the mojito or sangria. You get a giant drink and the plates of homemade tapas. They choose your tapas for you and they change them frequently. You can usually expect patatas bravas, croquetas, wings, rice with veggies and meats and breads with different toppings usually ham, cheese and spanish tortilla! The tapas are always delicious and usually fresh if it's a busy night as they are constantly making new ones. You buy one large drink for €6 and leave completely stuffed! Beware: This place gets BUSY!! On any given night around 10 pm, it will be crowded. Don't expect a quiet place to talk - it's rowdy and noisy but a fun environment. You order at the bar when you walk in and they make your drink quickly there and will pass you your tapas. They only have a few tables with chairs so you more than likely will stand up around some high tables. Also, it gets super hot inside during the summer months!
Very huge portions! And free tapas with beer.
