The best souvlaki and gyros in the world. btw They are so friendly! ☺️????????????????????????????????????????????????
Loved the spicy sausages and kebab here. Great value and good beer on sale (Donkey). We had to wait for 20 mins but it was well worth it.
I've been travelling Greek islands for two weeks now, and have been trying Gyros from each place I have been. I had one in Athens that was really phenomenal and every one I had since then felt a bit sub-standard. That was until a local from Santorini suggested that I go to Pitogyros. I made the trip to Oia for the sole purpose of trying this Gyros. The shop itself looks really nice, but my expectations were high, and to be honest I was already preparing myself for disappointment. Could I have been less ready for the religious experience that I was in for? No. From the first moment the succulent chicken touched my lips I was overwhelmed with a feeling that traversed time and space. One moment I was deep in a memory of being a child, playing with my family as a boy, the next I was back in the moment with my fiancé at Pitogyros, the next I was somewhere else - maybe a forgotten memory, the future perhaps? My world was spun, my perception of reality rocked, and my tastebuds were the boatman rowing me across the river Styx into a world I had never experienced. It was as if all the Ancient Greek Gods came down, and together they left a gift for us mere mortals to experience, just for a moment, what it is like to be a God. I know I can't prove this, but when I walked away from Pitogyros after their epiphany inducing chicken Gyros, I realised that the cut in my foot which was bugging me all week had somehow disappeared. My fiancé's breasts seem to have grown a full cup-size too - she also thinks it was because of the Gyros. I'd say that I highly recommend Pitogyros, but in all honestly you should be careful. To find anything resembling happiness after eating here will be difficult. You'll find yourself in a grey twilight between happiness and sadness, never quite capable of true, unadulterated, pure ecstasy.
