the sole survivor of the old gateway mall food court - and for good reason! this place has been around since i was a kid, and while it was fantastic then - affordable, healthy, and incredibly delicious - it has somehow only gotten better with time. the same guy had been working the counter pretty much every time i've been here, and always makes me feel happy and comfortable, which is rare to come by in the middle of a soulless shopping centre that, for most of my life, teetered constantly on the brink of total economic collapse. maybe it's just all my good memories welling up when i see the bright menus and his face behind the counter, but even if it is, years of good experiences and delicious post-movies meals (they used to be right by the entrance of the old movies 12 discount theatre) is more than enough reason to inspire that feeling. the food speaks for itself - i don't think anything on the menu is more than about 8 bucks, and you can get pretty much the best lunch of your life for 10 or under. equally perfect for snacks or full meals, this place somehow manages to be truly unique in the mexican food landscape of the area - the only place with street food staples like elote and esquite in addition to the standard tacos and nachos and such, with an expansive and delicious drink menu as well. my only complaint is that there aren't more locations in areas i could frequent more often. ps: get the chicken torta.

I like their smoothies. I get one with watermelon, orange juice and something else. I forget, but it's tasty. The food is ok. I don't typically order any, so I can't remember specifically what was good or bad. It's been a while since I've eaten there. I usually stick to smoothies.
