Pockets of fried tofu skin stuffed with gochujang beef tartare topped with fried onions. Hand-torn noodles with seared baby scallops, zucchini puree and parmesan. On a packed street squished among a jigsaw puzzle of stores, this quirky Yorkville restaurant doesn’t fit neatly in a box, but that’s the point... More info

Had a great time overall at this restaurant. The dining room is long and narrow, with part of the seating at the ground level and another portion up some stairs. Service was attentive and warm throughout. Everyone who brought food and drinks to our table, refilled water, take our dishes away, etc. were always smiling and pleasant. Appreciate the people who make this place memorable. The Mul-Hwe is a great starter. It’s cool and fresh. The flavours are light, and was just the right amount of spice for me. The potato pancake was great. Such a crunchy texture and I found it to be the perfect thickness. It went great with the sauce, the herbs, and the mussels, but honestly I could have had 3 more of even just the plain potato pancake on its own. The Sujebi pasta was interesting. It didn’t come off to me like what I was expecting Korean food to taste like. It seemed more like French or Italian. Not to say that’s a negative comment at all - but was interesting to get such familiar taste profiles in European food that I wasn’t expecting here. This is also a pretty filling dish. The duck confit was a nice texture. I liked the pasta with the sauce and crunch of the sourdough crumbs. For dessert, I had the corn pop bingsu. I loved this dish. The shaved ice was a nice texture. The corn pop and popcorn topping was delicious. I definitely could’ve had a bigger portion. I had a great experience here, and would like to come back again some day to try their other dishes. Our overall experience was good we had stuffed pepper, potato pancake, chicken wings and Sujebi.. personally I enjoyed the chicken wings and Sujebi the most the quantity on mid size plates is good but the small plates can be too small but again it’s not surprising in yorkville. We did try a few cocktails too loved the Smokey old fashioned but beyond that the other options didn’t really impress my friend and me. However, on service side we had to wait for our service, some people who came after us got their order taken before us. But once that was sorted the service was good and the server had good recommendations as well. Next time would want to go in just for the steak as we couldn’t try it this time. Nestled in the heart of Yorkville, 156 Cumberland is a must try. The food was delicious and I had a great server recommending what to get, and if it was enough for the table. I could not think of a dish I didn’t like! Highly recommend the tartar, potato pancake and banana milk tiramisu. The atmosphere is also perfect for date nights, casual and special occasions. Will definitely comeback. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
