The food didn't really taste like Thai food. The portions were small and were pricey. The chilli basil dish was more like an Indian curry. The dumplings were very bland and the outside was paper thin, no taste. However, the tamarind dish was nice, but the duck was very dry and hard. Food is all halal but they serve alcohol. They don't do Thai red or Tom yum, but they did make me the Tom yum soup upon request. I liked my main meal, I ordered tamarind duck. I ordered the dumplings for a starter, they didn't come with a dipping sauce. The rice side portion that you have to order separately is very small compared to your main dish and for almost £4 I would expect a bigger portion. I did struggle to decide what to order, the menu descriptions were pretty vague but I'm pleased with what I chose. For the whole experience 2Nakhon loses a star because of the service, we were there for around 3 hours and I only managed to get one drink, as someone who used to work in the hospitality industry it was drummed into us that the money is in the drinks so this really surprised me, they could have easily got a couple of bottle of wines out of our table of 4 but they didn't come and check on us we had to call them over. There was also a mix up with the starter orders, they brought the wrong ones out but one of them happened to be what mh friend ordered and so they left it on the table and we then waited for our dishes to arrive, very confusing! If I lived in the Didsbury I'd probably order take out from here to try the other dishes but with the cost of the mains without any sides starting at £15-16 its quite pricey!
