8th st is pretty near St John Nepomuk Church. The patient staff at this restaurant can show how much they value their visitors. The prompt service is something these restaurateurs care about. 8th st with the spectacular atmosphere can be a good dining place on your route. But a number of people who use Google didn't give this place a high rating.

This is by far the most unprofessional establishment I have encountered in the St. Louis area. As a person of color, I always try to support and promote new Black-owned businesses, but this experience was incredibly disappointing. I made a 6:30 PM reservation for the Saturday of Father’s Day weekend. They require you to order days in advance via a Google Form—a strange process, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. On the day of the reservation, they posted on Instagram that they were "only accepting reservations." Because I had one, I wasn't worried. However, when my family arrived, the restaurant was completely dark and locked. Not a soul in sight. My father drove all the way from O'Fallon and I drove from the County. With the time spent and the price of gas, to say I was livid is an understatement. We received absolutely zero communication—no phone call, no email, and no text letting us know they would be closed. I frantically called and DM’ed them on Instagram that evening with no response. I tried calling again on Father’s Day itself, and it went straight to voicemail. To this day, I have heard nothing back. All management had to do was communicate so I could have made alternative plans for my dad. I had heard rumors from other St. Louisans about their lack of professionalism, but wanted to give them a fair chance. They failed miserably. Save your time and your gas—do not visit this establishment. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Ok, I ordered the catfish with Mac and yams. Easily 10 out of 10! I know these guys are fairly new but I can tell you, THEY ARE ON TO SOMETHING! If they can stay consistent with the recipes and ingredients, they'll be smoking hot and the orders WILL NOT stop. I'm hoping they can pull past Gourmet Soul because Gourmet Soul protein options are laughable. They literally give you kid size portions. It's ridiculous. Anyway, staff at 8th St. You guys are on to something. Treat your recipes and ingredients like GOLD! Make sure all the cooks are on the same page at ALL TIMES. PPL are looking for consistent, good Soul food. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Saw an advertisement of this establishment (8th st ) on the Internet .The pictures of the food was breathtaking and very pleasing to the eyes. After reviewing their menu Me and my Colleagues decided to patronize this establishment to try first of all the service was horrible. Secondly, and most importantly the food was disgusting. I ordered some chicken wings and seems like I was eating carpet !! One of my colleagues order a Caesar salad with grilled chicken and it came out ..... iceberg salad !!! They definitely needs to be some retraining on customer service and changed the kitchen up.
