Lovely Taiwanese spot in the center of Utrecht! Even though 9ijs is simple in both design and menu, they’ve managed to create a vibe that I really enjoy. I’m also glad that a café of this kind has finally opened here because Utrecht didn’t really have a proper bubble tea and sophisticated street food place before. So far, I’ve tried the Bingsu. It looks simple, not an overloaded mix of random toppings and sugar like in some other places, and it tasted absolutely delicious. I also appreciated the portion size: it wasn’t too big, which is great if you’re watching your calorie intake. Light, refreshing, and just right to enjoy without feeling overly full. The egg pancake with cheese I liked a bit less, as it was too greasy and didn’t have much filling. However, I really like that they offer customizable bubble tea options, just like in Asia. I haven’t tried them yet, but they look very promising. What I would improve is the interior- it’s too unpretentious and feels a bit empty, there no tables, only a couple of stools. They can make it so much comfier and pleasant to enjoy your drink inside, especially during the winter! Overall, I’d definitely recommend 9ijs if you’re looking for a light dessert and quality bubble tea in the heart of Utrecht. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
