It felt as if we needed to apologize to the staff for sitting down here. This place had a very unwelcoming vibe and the staff couldn't have acted more uninterested in us. The prices on the window menus do not match the prices that are in the menus given to you, you will be charged for the higher price. They place garlic bread on your table that you don't ask for and charge you for it. (to be fair, the bread is really good) I ordered the chicken steak and my wife ordered beef steak. To our surprise, two chicken steaks came out. Oh well, mistakes happen right? Its just a shame that this chicken was easily the worst chicken I've had at a restaurant, incredibly tough and overcooked. If you see this place, just keep walking. Excellent food including traditional Madeira dishes. Particularly recommend the espatada. Lovely people and a generous host. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–25
