A TAVERN RESTAURANT #gastronomia #casasdecomer #trafaria We headed to Trafaria, a village with a gastronomic tradition, with many of its “Casas de Comer” facing the river, which immediately creates a pleasant and well-being atmosphere, much sought after by outsiders. If we combine this with the knowledge of those most aware of gastronomic quality, especially the quality and freshness of the ingredients and the care taken in cooking, the conditions for an excellent meal are created. Aware of the difficulties of finding a place at this time of year in the most prestigious “Casas de Comer” we were fortunate enough to have a “friendly hand” (thanks Lena, thanks friend Ludgero) reserve a table in advance for the “two usual diners”. And there we went to the restaurant “A Taberna” next to the riverside of Trafaria, where despite the full house, even full to overflowing, there we had our reserved corner next to a large window facing the riverside promenade, with the Tagus river right there. This lunch meal is part of the journey we are taking to get to know and taste the proposals made by various “Casas de Comer” for the dish RICE OF LINGUEIRO. Duly seated at the table assigned to us, we placed our order. It should be noted that, as I use to write in the chronicles I publish, “I try to go incognito (often impossible) and pay the bill at the end”. But let's get down to business... The “LONGUEIRO RICE” came to the table in a large, immaculate bowl with a small ladle to facilitate “serving”. Right there, our vision (and the eyes are the first to eat) was enchanted by how the rice was malandrinho with the razor clam dipped in it. (we would know later that something else the rice was hiding). Served on a plate, we also found prawns, clams and cockles. In the tasting, a delicacy of the gods (and the muses of the Tagus). The palate surprised by a rainbow of flavors only commented: The best “LONGUEIRO RICE” ever tasted by anyone who has been “in this” for so long. Then we couldn't resist the homemade desserts: Chocolate Mousse and Cream Milk burnt at the moment. The conclusion is that WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND.
