Had a lovely dinner at Antico Forno last week while visiting Taipei. The vibe of the restaurant is warm, lively, and welcoming—perfect for a relaxed evening out with family or friends. The food was excellent across the board. We started with a beautifully presented charcuterie platter with olives and artichokes, along with a perfectly tender octopus dish. For mains, the Naples-style, thin-crust pizzas were a major highlight—both the classic Margherita and the rich, earthy truffle mushroom pizza had a fantastic charred crust and great texture. The green pasta was fresh and flavorful, and the steak and pork chops were cooked beautifully and seasoned just right. A special shoutout to the staff for their wine recommendation: the **Giustini 'Areale' Primitivo di Manduria**. It was a stellar pairing—rich, smooth, and full-bodied enough to complement the wood-fired pizzas and hearty meats perfectly. Great food, attentive service, and an authentic Italian feel. We had a wonderful experience here. The food was delicious, and the staff were incredibly thoughtful and caring. After noticing that I was pregnant, they kindly provided me with a pillow, informed me about dishes containing alcohol or raw ingredients, and suggested pregnancy-friendly options for me. The best Italian restaurant inside the quite streets of Daan! Unforgettable hospitality and amazingly delicious food. I would specifically recommend the Tagliatelle alla pescatora and octopus with mille feuille potato. Although other dishes we had were all above expectation nonetheless!!
