Ask Italian is pretty near Chelmsford Cathedral. Come to this place and try Italian and Vegetarian cuisines. Nicely cooked spaghetti, bolognese and Pepperoni are the best dishes. You will like its food, particularly good gelato, cheesecakes and profiteroles. Delicious prosecco or good beer are worth a try here. Get your meal started with great lemonade or delicious hot chocolate.

I popped in for A quick lunch. Best prawns and chips I have ever had seriously! Service was wonderful nothing was too much trouble and it was just all round perfect will defo be back and recommend I was served by Krystal who was wonderful perfect waitress and manager xxx Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Recommended dishes: Garlic Bread, Chips, Butterfly King Prawns

We waited ages to be shown to a table, or even be acknowledged! Once we got to a table it took a long time before our orders were taken. Honestly we were debating whether to leave! We missed starters, and just went for mains and ordered our drinks. No one spoke to us and our drinks were delivered at the same time as our food. The restaurant wasn't busy and the staff seemed to be spending more time on their phones than with customers! Everyone was sitting waiting. The people behind us went to the till to get their bill they were fed up waiting for someone to come. The people next to us ordered desserts and waiting so long for them to come that they ended up checking to make sure the waitress had ordered them! People who cam in just behind us and waited equally as long to get a table ordered starters and had finished them and waited so long for their mains to come, we had finished eating and waited about 15 mins before anyone came over. The chef pinged for service just as my husband went upstairs for the bathroom, the food was still waiting when he came down, the people waiting had been shaking their heads and said that it would be cold, it was honestly the worst service ever. I will definitely not be returning. However the food was delicious it's just a shame it all took such an uncomfortably long time! best dinner of my life. the waitress (maisie) served us with eloquence and poise and i would honestly say she is the best waitress i've ever interacted with. maisie ensured to constantly check on us and provide us with the highest hospitality one could ask for. if you ever visit ask italian chelmsford look out for this gem. thanks maisie for making me and my family so happy.
