We’d heard this place is always busy and doesn’t take bookings, so we made sure to arrive early. Luckily we got a table straight away, but by the time we finished there was already a long queue outside. It’s easy to see why it’s so popular. We ordered the Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken Wing with Bone, Beef Bibimbap, Kimchi Jeon and the Soft Tofu Stew. Four dishes came to just over £50, which was fantastic value for two people. The fried chicken was definitely the highlight. Crispy, juicy and coated in a sweet and spicy sauce that had just the right balance of flavour. The Beef Bibimbap was also excellent, especially once everything was mixed together and the rice crisped up at the bottom of the stone bowl. The Kimchi Jeon was nicely crisp around the edges with plenty of kimchi throughout, and the Soft Tofu Stew was packed with tofu and vegetables in a rich, comforting broth. Everything arrived piping hot and the portions were generous. We left completely full. The only downside is how noisy it gets once the restaurant fills up. The atmosphere is lively, but it’s not the easiest place if you’re hoping for a quiet catch-up. Overall, I’d happily come back. Great food, generous portions and excellent value for money. Been to assa multiple times now and I always have a blast every time I come The food is absolutely delicious and the portion sizes are SOOO generous, I don’t think I’ve ever left this restaurant feeling hungry after. The prices of the food are also really good you can spend an affordable amount on food here and still leave satisfied! Depending on how busy it is, the wait time ranges. Sometimes I haven’t waited at all to get a table, sometimes I’ve waited 10 minutes. The wait time is reasonably good. The servers are also nice and very professional, they are attentive and do well. I haven’t had any complaints before with any of the servers! I’ve brought multiple friends here before and we’ve always left happy. This is one of my go to korean bbq spots in london.
