We stayed at the Abercrave Inn Accomodation for two nights Saturday-Monday.We booked a meal on the Saturday night, and I must say it was one of the nicest meals I've had in a while. I had the mushrooms to start with and they were the nicest mushrooms I have ever had. It was accompanied by warm bread for dipping and I absolutely loved every second of it.The pate starter was also served with warm bread, I'm not a fan of pate myself but my partner's Mum ordered it and said it was the best pate she had ever had. Especially because the bread was warm and fresh.I ordered the buttermilk chicken and a side of onion rings for a main. I could not finish it all. The portion sizes here are HUGE, I usually pride myself in finishing all my food but I couldn't here. I'd rather have too much food than too little though. And the portion size didn't take anything away from the taste or quality. All of us struggled to finish our mains, the burgers also looked great and my partner struggled to finish his.I ordered ice cream for dessert as I had no room for anything else but needed to cool down a bit. No one else ordered a dessert as they were too full, but were fully satisfied by their meal. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and checked on us throughout every course to make sure we were okay and had everything we needed. The service wasn't slow and drinks arrived not long after we ordered them.We also booked for breakfast on the Sunday morning. I think the usual times are 7-9 (9:30?) normally, but on the Sunday it was only until half 8. The breakfast was lovely, I can't comment on the cooked breakfast as we had toast/the continental but judging from the amazing food we had the night before I have no doubt that it would be amazing.Definitely recommend the Abercrave Inn and 100% recommend the AMAZING food!A note for those with dogs - there is a sign at the top of the steps where you walk in to state that dogs are only allowed within the outside seating area by the front of the pub. There are plenty of benches in this area and some cover.
