Go to the Açai restaurant if you want to eat delicious and creative plant based dishes. We stayed in the leaf suite, very spacious and comfortable room. Our baby loves Açai Service: 5

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome with their warm hospitality. The hotel boasts a beautiful, modern design with spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms. We absolutely loved the pool area, which was the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun.The breakfast selection was delicious, featuring fresh ingredients and great local options. Its location is also ideal, making it very easy to explore the stunning island of Rhodes. Everything exceeded our expectations, and the attention to detail was truly outstanding. A huge thank you to the entire team for making our vacation so memorable. We highly recommend Acai Hotel and can’t wait to come back next summer! Service: 5

Myself and my partner stayed in Acai, in the leaf suite (room 11), for our honeymoon and my birthday last weekend. The room was brilliant - it was clean and modern, with clearly high quality and eco-friendly furnishings and fittings. The shower had 4 attachments (though no head was adjustable so did spray the bathroom). The hotel clearly has potential for luxury stays where guests feel at home. Indeed, prices already reflect this. However, we felt there were clear and disappointing opportunities missed to deliver this vision currently. First, the welcome. No staff room appears to have been provided for breaks, meaning staff smoke and chat at the hotel entrance, and guests disturb their time off. Given it was my birthday and our honeymoon, we had booked a 'celebration package' (50 euro) of cake and wine in our room. However, this was forgotten until prompting, and even then staff were uncertain what was included and had not anticipated it, negotiating with the chef if it was still possible. (In the end it was and the cake was gorgeous and the white wine was warm). Second, the food service. Largely the food was fine dining standard (with one exception). It was let down by the service. Staff seemed untrained in how to greet and interact with guests. For example, for my birthday dinner on the honeymoon, we had reserved a table. There were 3 inside, but we were given one of the outside ones which only narrowly avoided the rain. We ordered cocktails, and the order was taken, with no mention of the fact the bartender had not yet arrived to work! After a wait, we resorted to retrieving our wine from our room upstairs! Our cocktails arrived with our second course, and they were quite nice. The meal was overall very tasty and clearly a lot of care and attention went into making it. However, for pudding we ordered the blueberry cheesecake, and what came out can only be described as blueberry soup with a sandy crumb on the side. It looked nothing like the photos or any other cheesecake, but at least two staff assured us it was how they serve it at acai! Please see the photo. To their credit, when we then refused to eat the "cheesecake" despite their assurances, and they took it back (no extra charge) and gave us a nice brownie instead. Weirdest birthday dinner though and a real shame, but also very memorable! Breakfast was amazing - but a real surprise. The coffee pods were not up to much, a premier inn in the UK has far better options for breakfast coffee. However - they gave us a platter of amazing delicacies, local savouries and sweets, different everyday, that really set us up well. The breakfast platters were the highlights of our stay. The breakfast was never explained, just brought to you - so we didn't know how it worked at first. This hotel is suited to car users. There is no pavement outside and it is a busy narrow road and it feels scary at times to walk on. Acai could improve guest experience on this by providing alternative routes on back streets. (Ps please get paper city maps!) We must mention - At the end of our stay, the staff through for us in a great way. We got stranded on Symi (top tip - don't rely on the last boat back!) and had to stay there past checkout the next day. The staff kindly packed our stuff up for us in our bags, booked us a taxi to the airport and were generally jolly about the whole thing, getting us water etc. That's despite the inconvenience to them e.g. we had to access the room with new guests to get our passports from the safe. We were really grateful for this and we ended our trip on a good note because of it. Reading others' reviews, we wonder if we got the hotel on an off day. Perhaps others are more understanding of new businesses and how it takes time to adopt and adapt professional standards. We love to support vegan businesses, and we hope the constructive critique above is taken on to strengthen this one. It should be an easy fix - many of the hard things e.g. quality - are done well. Perhaps staff training and a break room would be a good place to start. Service: 2

Hi Rosie from Açai. Thank you for your review and feedback. To be honest we are a bit confused by it. First of all, Açai is smoke free across the premises. So yes, we do allow our staff to have a break and leave our building. Also, as you mentioned you have booked the celebration package for your birthday/anniversary. Instead of just putting the cake in your suite’s fridge (which wouldn’t be ideal) we served it to you at your meal. Finally, we believe that due to our high professional standards, we provided every possible help and we went above and beyond when you found yourself in a difficult situation with your checkout. Overall, we always try to improve and we are happy you generally enjoyed our food and your stay with us.
