Delicious Greek food at a great price, I have been here several times and the food has been fantastic! Love the shrimp dish and the baked chicken! Great date night spot! Best baklava in Greensboro!

We had a very disappointing dinner experience at The Acropolis Restaurant on a Friday evening between 6 and 7 o’clock. The disappointment was surprising, considering all the wondrous reviews that have been posted. As a Greek-American, I’m familiar with Greek food and too, I’ve lived and worked in Greece for several years.I’ll preface my “critique” of The Acropolis by noting that parking for the restaurant is a challenge ... there is no designated area for patrons. We ordered Dolmathes (stuffed grape leaves) for an appetizer. They seemed to have been commercially canned or jarred ... the rice filling was mushy ... certainly not appetizing. The Avgholemono (soup) was dilute and bland.Bread was not offered, but served when requested. It was sliced white sandwich bread of supermarket variety. The Greek salad was not remarkable. The Gyros entree seemed like two slabs of a mystery meat placed on a bed of soggy, soupy rice pilaf. A sad boiled potato was on the plate, a tiny thimble of tzatziki sauce, as well as a clump of green beans in a tomato wash. And yet, the few broccoli pieces were OK. The Moussaka was uneventful, but not tasteful in the traditional sense.Service was good ... given there was but only one other couple seated in the dining room at the time.Perhaps other dishes would be more tasteful, but we don’t plan a return.
